I have a SONY DCR-TRV130, what device can i buy to get the tapes onto the computer. what do i need to buy?

my sony computer has an USB port and i need a device that takes USB. i use it for skating and i want to put to get all my videos on the computer, so please helpppp =D

It says in tiny print in your manual that you need a firewire connection (ieee 1394) to download video, unfortunately your computer probably doesn't have a firewire port (ieee 1394) so you will have to buy one and install it, also your camera did not come with a firewire cord (because PC's don't come with a port) so you will have to buy that too. The USB cord that came with your camera is strictly for downloading the stills from your video camera.

what you have is a digital8 camcorder. USB is only good for sitll photos, not video. What you need is a firewire card. If you don't have one you can get one cheap (less than $20) on ebay. You'll also need capture software, also cheap on ebay (Nero 6 is under $20 including shipping).
